Garden as art: Romanesco

Benjamin Asaro, of Foster City, cultivated Romanesco in his winter garden, and was taken not only by its beauty, but by its taste. Romanesco looks other-worldly, but it’s actually a variety of broccoli grown here on suitable old planet Earth. Because it resembles the vegetable, it also is called Roman cauliflower.
